Microchip MCP2518FD External CAN FD Controllers offer a small-footprint and SPI Interface, allowing an easy connection. A CAN FD channel can be simply added to a microcontroller either lacking a CAN FD peripheral or does not have the required CAN FD channels. The MCP2518FD Controllers supports both CAN frames formats as specified in ISO 11898-1:2015, these are the Classical format (CAN2.0B) and CAN Flexible Data Rate (CAN FD) format.
